Suggestions on displaying and preserving old slate tile
We have a 16 x 22 in slate tile that was from the roof of an ancestors
homestead. We also have photos of the area, and old iron nail, and family
crest. Any suggestions on how to preserve it and display it?
Preserving it isn t a problem since it won t rot or break down
obviously. You can seal it with a penetrating sealer. Most all of them
won t change the color of the slate but will seal it so it won t stain
from something getting on it.
As far as displaying it , the only thing I can think of is a glass
enclosed case that you can also display the other family heirlooms. GL
